Dim sum – take 1!

Today I have attempted dim sum for the 1st time, using my fave cookbook of the mo – Gok Cooks Chinese. I’ll kept the text to a minimum as I have loads of pics πŸ™‚

This is what its meant to look like – prawn moneybags, chicken & leek potstickers and fried rice:

Pretty good job! My husband and his family try to teach me their family Chinese recipes, which is always fun to try to reproduce. Here is the fried rice I made from their recipe: http://fudgingahead.wordpress.com/2012/04/01/fried-rice/

Thanks πŸ™‚ definite room for improbable, but not a bad first attempt. Your rice looks yummy! I used Chinese sausage, we haven’t had it before its quite different but nice. I don’t like bacon unfortunately – as my hubbie says I’m odd as even veggies like bacon πŸ˜‰

That’s funny! My husband likes Chinese sausage–it’s a bit too porky and salty for me, so we meet in the middle with bacon. πŸ™‚ You could probably just sub in the sausage for the bacon in mine.
